Licence training and practical confidence are different steps
A boat licence establishes the legal and safety foundation for recreational boating in NSW. Practical handling training develops the calm, repeatable skills that make docking, anchoring, reversing and marina manoeuvring feel manageable. Many boaters benefit from both: licence training first, then handling practice on the BoatWise training vessel or their own boat.
